Verona's Story

The City of Verona,Wisconsin is located 15 minutes southwest from the capital of Madison, WI.  Verona is a part of Dane County and is recognized as having one of the best school systems in the state of Wisconsin and also known for providing exceptional service for students with special needs. The 12,000 residents enjoy the benefits of the city with the agricultural influence of the past. 

 

The Verona community calls itself, "Hometown, USA," celebrating it's hometown atmosphere in the heart of southern Wisconsin. Every June, on the weekend closest to Flag Day, Verona celebrates "Hometown Days" with a midway, festival, parade and hot air balloon rally. 

 

Verona, WI is also known for it's recreational activities and faculties. Most recently Verona concluded a new Little League Baseball park and four diamond complex with the feel and all the amenities of a big league park.  Another great area for sports recreation is Reddan Soccer Park that contains 15 fields. 

Verona, WI also is home to The Ice Age National Scenic Trail.  It is one of eight national scenic trails in the United Sates and it was all set in motion in Verona, Wisconsin.  The trail is mostly for hiking and backpacking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.  The Trail showcases Wisconsin's world-renowned glacial features. The Verona portion of the trail travels through different farm fields, woods, prairies, along the Badger Mill Creek, past glacial kettle ponds, and takes hikers through the great Badger Prairie County Park with acres of prairie flowers and grasses.

 

As with its sister communities around the State Capitol of Madison, Verona, Wisconsin, offers residents both nature and nurture - the beauty of the trails as well as the pace of a major university campus.  Many Veronians work in the city and return to the quiet each evening - providing a most satisfying way to balance life and work!
